Micronfilter

Why use filter housings?

Inside the filter housing, in most cases filter bags or filter cartridges are installed through which a liquid is pumped. The dirt particles are filtered out of the liquid until the filter bag or filter cartridge becomes saturated. The pressure in the filter housing therefore increases, which is an indication that the filter bag or filter cartridge needs to be replaced.
Filter housings can be used in a wide variety of industries. Depending on the requirements of the industry, filter housings are available in different materials, configurations, pressure classes, and with different connections. The filters can also be adapted to the needs of the industry and are available in various materials and filtration grades from 0.5 to 1500 microns. AXO Filtertechniek can supply filter bags that are suitable for the food industry with food certificates EC1935/2004.

A filter housing with a single filter bag can theoretically handle a flow rate of up to 40 m³/h and requires a floor space of 70x70cm. By connecting filter housings, very large volumes can be filtered. It is also possible to use one single multibag filter housing to increase the volume.

Filter housings are closed systems. Where a pressureless system is required, our belt filters can be an excellent solution. Click here for more information about belt filters, or contact us if you would like personal advice.

AXO Filtertechniek supplies filter bags and filter cartridges with a filtration rating from 0.5 to 1500 microns, as well as filter housings in various configurations, materials, pressure classes, and with different connections. We also offer the possibility to rent our filter housings. If you would like personal advice or more information, please contact us.

Customized bagfilter housings

The most common filter housings used with bagfilters come in 4 standard sizes as shown in the table below. AXO Filtertechniek can supply filter housings in various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel 304, 316, 316L, and stainless steel 316Ti. For applications where liquids are filtered for which steel and stainless steel are unsuitable, we can supply special plastic filter housings. The gasket are also available in different materials such as NBR, EPDM, Viton, and Teflon.

The inlet and outlet of the filter housing can be customized as desired. The most common connections are ANSI and DIN flanges, BSP, NPT, Tri-Clamp, and Cam-Lock.

The filter housing sizes all indicate a single variant in which only one filter bag can be placed. A filter housing size-2, for example, is equipped with one filter bag and can theoretically handle a flow rate of 40 m³/h. This filter housing size occupies a floor space of 70x70 cm. By connecting single filter housings together the flow rate can be increased many times over.

To prevent the filtration process from having to be completely interrupted when the filters are saturated, we offer our filtration systems with shut-off valves that can be operated manually or pneumatically. In this way, a single filter housing can be isolated from the main flow in order to replace the filterbag.

As an alternative for large volume flows, we can supply multi-bag filter housings. These are single filter housings in which multiple filterbags are placed. The multi-bag filter housings are available with a minimum of 3 filterbags and a maximum of 24 filterbags. The 24-fold multi-bag can handle a maximum flow rate of 750 m³/h.
AXO Filtertechniek also supplies multi-bag and single filter housings with magnetic cores. The magnetic cores can be cleaned, so no filter media needs to be replaced. Click here for more information about magnetic filters, or contact us if you would like personal advice.

Filterbag strainer

Inside the filter housing ther is a basket in which the filterbag is placed. This basket is made of the same material as the filter housing and is perforated with 3 mm holes. The filter basket can be lined with a stainless steel mesh with a permeability of 25 to 800 microns. This mesh and basket are washable, allowing the filter housing to be used as a strainer.
