Why use oil mist filters?
Oil mist, coolant emulsion mist, vapors and steam often arise in machine tools and pose a risk to the health of your employees.
In addition to the well-known health risks, this fine mist also settles on floors and stairs, creating dangerously slippery surfaces. Fine oil mist can also settle on electronic components, causing downtime and malfunctions.
The KUBE oil mist filter prevents contamination of your working environment and minimizes maintenance thanks to its smart multi-stage filter design. Would you like personal advice or more information? Please feel free to contact us.
Oil mist, coolant emulsion mist and smoke particles during production processes
Just as welding fumes arise during welding and cutting operations and inhaling these welding fumes can pose a direct risk to the health of your employees, the same applies to working with metalworking fluids. These fluids are used to lubricate and cool tools, machines, and products.
Metalworking fluids ensure that tools used to process products do not overheat, protect the products, and remove chips. Due to the pressure with which cooling fluids are sprayed onto the product and the high speeds at which the tool rotates, oil mist or coolant emulsion mist is created during, for example, drilling and milling.
These very fine oil droplets enter the air and can cause significant damage to machines and have a negative effect on the health and productivity of your employees. The deposition of oil in air ducts and on floors and stairs can even create (fire)hazardous situations. During the processing of metals, very high temperatures can occur, causing the oil, coolant emulsion, and/or the product to burn, releasing not only oil mist but also vapors and smoke particles.
Health risks because of oil mist
Apart from the fact that oil mist can be harmful to electric machinery, be a fire hazard and promote the growth of bacteria and fungi, various health problems can arise.
By inhaling the oil mist and smoke particles, respiratory complaints can develop in areas such as the throat, nose, and lungs. The deposition of particles on the skin can cause persistent itching and rashes. In the long term, these particles can even be carcinogenic.
Industrial filtration of oil mist, coolant emulsion mist and smoke particles
The KUBE oil mist filters can filter the released fine particles from the air stream and blow clean air directly back into the factory hall. All captured liquid is returned to the machine via the oil return hose or is collected separately.
Solid particles are filtered by the multi-stage filtration system and can, among other things, be removed from the KUBE via the washable filters. A filter indicator shows when the filters become saturated.
A simple solution to keep your production areas clean and safe. Your employees and your machines will no longer be affected by harmful oil mist particles. Your company will thereby comply with the latest occupational health and safety requirements and MAC values, i.e., the limit values for oil mist in the air. Mobile Oil Mist Filter
In most cases, a filter is connected to a fully closed metal working machine. The volume of the machining area largely determines which extraction capacity is required. The KUBE ensures that the contents of the machining area are completely refreshed several times per minute.
The oil smoke and oil mist are extracted from the machine tool by the KUBE Oil Mist Separator and filtered out of the air stream, after which the clean air is returned directly into the factory hall instead of being blown outside, with the added advantage that the heat remains inside the building and the hall does not need to be reheated continuously. Collected coolant emulsion can be fed back into the machine.. When the operator opens the doors of the machine, harmful vapors and oil mist are not inhaled and the working environment is not contaminated.
For closed machines, this is an extremely effective way of filtering out the oil mist and smoke, but for open machines this cannot be applied. For this purpose, the KUBE mobile oil mist filter unit has been designed. Thanks to 4 swivel wheels and an 8-meter power cable, the mobile filter can be moved to hard to reach areas. With the flexible 360-degree rotatable suction arm, oil mist extraction can be performed directly at open machines or other sources of contamination.
For professional welders who need a flexible solution, we also offer mobile filters. The units are designed to extract welding fumes on site in smaller and hard to reach spaces, for example in the middle of a workshop or in a remote corner. Our Mobile Welding Fume Filter is suitable for a wide range of welding applications such as MIG, MAG, TIG, GMAW, FCAW, and electrode welding.
